Traditional Program


It is thus named because it was the first created by Projecte Home; all the rest of the Organization’s programs are based on it. It is a treatment program, which is run in a drug-free reference framework, it concentrates on those factors responsible for the addiction, and its aim is to empower in each participant their own personal strengths and to minimize their weaknesses.

It is directed to those adults that, whichever is the drug they consume, need to break off completely with their previous lifestyle.
It is structured in three parts:


Centro de Acogida (Centre of Reception)

At the day centre the expectations are: for the person to break off and distance himself/herself from drug use and its environment. At the same time personal changes and growth processes are promoted.




Comunidad Terapéutica (Therapeutic Community)

It is considered as a residential period, during which, with the group’s help, every individual works intensely in a process of self-knowledge and personal change. During this phase, three human basic areas are targeted: a) behavioural, in such a way that changes in behaviour need to occur to enable the individual to enjoy normal social interactions, b) affectivity-spirituality, to better know and learn how to manage affectivity as a fundamental step towards growth and c) cognitive, to work on the causes and consequences of their past that are related to their present.


Centro de Reinserción (Reinsertion Centre)

It is the moment when the person puts into practice their new life-style, integrating with Society, building a social network away from the world of drugs, learning how to manage their free time, their family, work environment, and other areas in a positive direction. This is the way by which personal autonomy can be attained.

The first two phases take place in Majorca, the Reception phase in the Sa Vileta Centre in Palma and the Therapeutical Community phase in the Ses Sitjoles property in Campos. For the Reinsertion phase, persons in Minorca or Ibiza chave the opportunity of following them at their location, just in the same way as people living in Majorca follow them, given that PROJECTE HOME BALEARS has centres in each one of the three islands.
The traditional program offers support for alternative living premises, for those users in the first phase that do not have family support or do not have their family living in Majorca.

Projecte Jove



One of the main factors when determining the user profile is the age of the individual. At present we are encountering drug consumption in younger persons, 12 or 13 years old. This is the reason why PROJECTE HOME BALEARS decided, some time ago, to offer a treatment with strong educational features for younger people.

But it not just age the differentiating element when determining a profile, given that in the group of young people we find a diversity of problems needing specific actions. Our organization has established three action lines, according to the importance of the problem.

Centro de día (Day Center)

The Day Centre is an itinerary in which the young person/teenager breaks away from the lifestyle they were leading before having started treatment. It has been created for persons between 14 and 21 years old, needing an intense and on-going intervention.
Through the aims set in the three levels in which the program is structured, the different factors present in the person’s addiction are addressed. Actions are focussed on behaviour, self-knowledge, social and family relations, and there is a priority set to provide career training for their future jobs.

We have an organization to provide support and help for those young persons’ reinsertion, who, because of lack of family support or because of their personal characteristics, need a place to live during a period of time. This itinerary takes place in the El Terreno centre in Palma.

Just a Temps (Just on Time)

This program has a similar structure to the program Horabaixa, but  is adapted to the needs of the younger persons, so that they can harmonize the treatment with their academic or labour activities.  The aims are the same as those designed for the recipients of the previous itinerary described, with differences in the therapeutic instruments used.  The youths needing this type of program can follow it in the centres of PROJECTE HOME BALEARS in any of the three islands, depending on their place of residence.

Ciberjove

It is a program designed for youths with an incipient consumption of drugs and to their parents, whose objective is to provide resources, technical, abilities and skills to reduce the problems produced by drug use initiation.

Horabaixa



Is a program whose final objective is the same as the previous one described above, it is also run in a drug-free reference framework. The existence of this program is due to the profile of the recipients, since it is designed for drug users that can harmonize the therapeutic program with their everyday life. The therapeutic instruments used vary, and the fact of not breaking categorically with their previous lifestyle requires a great effort for the individual and a greater family implication.
The program is structured in three phases or moments, in which different objectives are worked on: motivation, self-knowledge personal and the establishment of a lifestyle away from drugs.  The therapeutic work is mainly based in self-help and group work, even though other specific complementary therapeutic alternatives might also be used.  The whole program is run in each of the three islands.

Managed Programs:

Casa Oberta y Centro de Reinserción Nou Dia (Open House and Reinsertion Centre Nou Dia)

It was the first Therapeutic Community at national level that assisted, simultaneously, people following a drug-free program and people in methadone or other pharmaceutical drugs maintenance programs.  PROJECTE HOME BALEARS received the assignment of the Consell of Majorca to design and to run a therapeutic program to answer to the needs of a drug-dependent group, who were following intermediate objective programs, but had possibilities of reaching higher rehabilitation levels. 
The mainfeatures of this CT are: 
  • To provide treatment, without distinction, to people in methadone maintenance programs and in drug-free programs.
  • To be a direct Therapeutic Community, each individual entering the program after the interview with the TC monitors. 
  • To admit people with dual pathologies, provided that this problem allows them to follow a personal growth process.
  • To follow a psychobiosocial model, in which the treatment is designed to impact personal growth. 
  • To coordinate work with professionals in the different teams of the government network, merging different disciplines and intervention models in a same person and in a same moment. 


All of it complemented with the Reinsertion phase in which, based on all the issues addressed, it is sought that each person be inserted socially in an autonomous way that will allow the development of a drug-free lifestyle. 

This treatment is designed for people with a long record of consumption and who often have psychic and physical problems, side-effects of drug abuse.  They may be on methadone maintenance programs, on medication, or simply in a drug-free program.

The phase Therapeutic Community is run in the centre that PROJECTE HOME BALEARS has in the municipality of Binissalem.  The last phase takes place in the Palma centre.

Centro de día Arrels (Arrels Day Centre)

It is a day centre for people that, being in ambulatory treatment programs, they need a complement to make the rehabilitation process easier and help them be aware of the problem and motivate them so that they feel the need to make a change in their lifestyle.  The recipients are therefore, persons derivated to the program by the welfare public network. The aim is to motivate them by means of educational-therapeutic activities, to involve them into more ambitious treatment programs.
Besides the educational and therapeutic activities, the user has access to basic sanitary attention, advising and legal support - social, methadone prescription and administration and continuing adult education to help their reintegration process. The centre is located in the building that PROJECTE HOME BALEARS has in Sa Vileta in Palma. 

Contention and Habit breaking Centre Andana



It is a detoxification centre, for habit breaking and contention aimed to achieve abstinence. Abstinence is a basic requirement to be able to face a treatment.  PROJECTE HOME BALEARS and the Conselleria of Salut of the Govern of the Illes Balears agreed in 2002 to create this residential program.  It is designed for persons who experience a big difficulty in stopping consumption, which delays the start of the program. 
To access it, it is necessary to be integrated in a specific drug dependence treatment program and to be derived by the corresponding treatment team.  The professionals in this centre work in coordination with the professionals in the public network. 

Shelter and day centre Sa Placeta



A reality that cannot be avoided is the existence of active consumers often considered chronic because of their long path of consumption.  With the firm belief that the irretrievable drug addict does not exist, PROJECTE HOME BALEARS manages this centre of government ownership that wants to be an open window to hope for the persons using it who often believe that there is no solution to their problem. 
It is a centre of temporary fostering for drug addicts assisted or not by the government drug-dependence network, and offers two kinds of services: 
* Day Centre: the aim is to motivate and to help to the integration of the users.  Diverse activities in the centre are designed to promote the possibilities and personal abilities of each person and to create the need to start a reintegration process. 
* Shelter – Dormitory: pursues the same objectives as the previous service and besides seeks to improve in a global way the users quality of life, providing a welcoming environment where basic needs are covered.
The Consell of Majorca is the owner of the centre,  and it has been managed by PROJECTE HOME BALEARS since June 2005.  These services are designed for persons over 18 years old with active drug addiction.  The centre is located in Palma in Majorca.
